REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Thursday 21st July 2022

Two Green Sandpipers were on the last pool remaining at Thornham Harbour early morning, with two more or the same, on the Broadwater later in the day. A very juvenile looking Northern Wheatear was also present along Thornham Bank. Four Spoonbill and a Great White Egret were also present. With a northern edge to the wind attention shifted to the sea, a tad optimistic maybe, with a dark phase Arctic Skua the best two hours of sea watching could produce.
