Seawatching today produced 24 Common Scoter, 6 Fulmars, 4
Gannets, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 42 Little Terns, 201 Sandwich Terns and 44
Common Terns. A good range of waders included 5 Avocets, 5 Golden Plovers,
Whimbrel, 15 Black-tailed Godwits, Ruff, Common and 3 Green Sandpipers,
Greenshank and a Snipe. Two Green Woodpeckers, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2
Lesser Whitethroats, 15 Swallows, a Cetti's Warbler and 7 Stonechats were
recorded.
Moths today were 10 Cloaked Minors, 2 Small Waved Umbers, 2
Ferns, 3 Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwings, 3 Single Dotted Waves, 5
Dingy Footmen, 3 Straw Dots, 6 Shuttle-shaped Darts, 2 Flame Shoulders, 8
White-lined Darts, 11 Flouced Rustics, 3 Small Square Spots, 4 Turnips, 3
Sharp-angled Peacocks, 12 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 5 White Points, 4 Yellow
Tails, 4 Scarce Footmen, 6 Garden Tigers, Spectacle, 2 Straw Underwings, 3
Rustics, 4 Archer's Darts, Dark Arches, 2 Nutmegs, Willow Beauty, 3 Garden
Pebbles, Large Yellow Underwing, Common Rustic, Gold Spot, Rosy Minor,
Brown-line Bright-eye and Yellow Belle.
Butterflies included Small Tortoiseshell, Red Admiral,
Common Blue, Gatekeeper, Wall, Comma and Speckled Wood.
