ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Friday 16th September 2022

A great day for seawatching, with an Eider, 12 Common Scoters, 5 Red-throated Divers, 6 MAnx Shearwaters, 150 Gannets, 17 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Long-tailed, 1 Pom and 65 Arctic Skuas, 20 Bonxies, 2 Razorbills, 3 Guillemots, 59 Sandwich Terns, 4 Arctic Terns, 179 Kittiwakes and a Little Gull recorded between 6.55am and 15.30pm.

In the moth traps 7 Square-spot Rustics, a Small Dusty Wave, Snout, 2 Large Wainscots, Frosted Orange, Shore Wainscot and Setaceous Hebrew Character were recorded.
