ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Friday 7th October 2022

A very blustery south westerly prevailed, with the few highlights including a Great Northern Diver flying past close inshore, 2 Pintail on the Broadwater, with 2 Avocets, 15 Black-tailed Godwits, Spotted Redshank, Greenshank, 3 Snipe and a Med Gull noted and 2 Redpolls flying over.

In the moth traps 12 Lunar Underwings, 8 Large Yellow Underwings, Feathered Ranunculus, Lesser Yellow Underwing, Turnip, Deep-brown Dart and 2 White Points were caught. A Small Copper, Red Admiral, Large White and Wall Brown were the butterflies seen.
