ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Friday 11th November 2022

A blustery day, on the sea one Eider, 84 Common Scoter, a Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Red-throated Divers, 8 Great Crested Grebes and a Kittiwake were of interest. Spoonbill and Great White Egret were both observed, with a Peregrine at Gore Point and a Purple Sandpiper seen flying west along the shore. A Pale-bellied Brent was with dark-bellied on the grazing marsh and 2 Stonechats, 5 Siskins and 2 Rock Pipits were also noted.

A Red Admiral was still on the wing as were 2 Common Darters.
