A misty start gave way to glorious sunshine, with fog returning mid afternoon.
On the sea today, 7 Eider, 139 Common Scoter, 5 Red-breasted Mergansers, 5 Red-throated Divers, 11 Gannets, 9 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Razorbills and single Pom and Arctic Skuas flew west offshore. Also of interest were 114 Curlew, 325 Lapwings, 4 Water Rails, 3 Red Kites, a Barn Owl hunting in the dunes on the NWT reserve, 3 Bearded Tits along the east bank, 2 Chiffchaffs, 3 Blackcaps, 28 Blackbirds, 3 Fieldfares, 6 Song Thrushes, 25 Redwings, 2 Stonechats, 2 Bramblings, 2 Redpolls, 10 Siskins and 25 Reed Buntings.
At least 5 Red Admirals, a Peacock, and 2 Common Darters were still present.
