ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Sunday 6th November 2022

A Great White Egret flew east and on the grazing marsh 320 Golden Plover and 160 Lapwings were counted, with a male Merlin at Thornham Harbour, a ring-tail Hen Harrier and a Peregrine of note. At least 4 Bearded Tits were counted around the reserve, with a pair of Stonechats near the car park, 5 Siskins and 10+ Rock Pipits flying over calling. 

A late Red Admiral was seen.
