ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 5th November 2022

A cool day with rain mid morning, highlights today included 18 Whooper Swans, a Pale-bellied Brent on the beach and a Purple Sandpiper at Gore Point. On the sea 852 Common Scoter, a drake Goldeneye west, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 2 Red-throated Divers, 2 Gannets, 3 Great Crested Grebes, a Slavonian Grebe, and a Woodcock in off the sea. Also of interest were 900 Golden Plover on the grazing marsh, Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 3+ Bearded Tits, 3 Fieldfares, 2 Rock Pipits, 2 Bramblings and 2 Siskins.
