On the sea today 46 Eider, a Long-tailed Duck, 3 Velvet Scoter, a Goldeneye, 16 Red-breasted Mergansers, 8 Fulmars and 7 Great Crested Grebes were recorded. Around the marshes 110 Golden Plover, 33 Lapwings and 15 Black-tailed Godwits were of interest, and 2 Kingfishers, 2 Cetti's Warblers, a Bearded Tit and 5 Rock Pipits were also of note. A Firecrest was feeding very close to the Observatory centre giving excellent views early afternoon.
