ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 21st January 2023

The Turkestan Lesser Whitethroat frustrated many today, showing briefly near the silver birch at 11.30am but not seen again for the rest of the day. At least one Firecrest was still present and 4 Shorelark were on the beach opposite the Golf Course access once again. A Peregrine was seen near the Coal Barn at Thornham and on the sea 24+ Eiders, 3 Fulmars and a Great Crested Grebe were noteds. A flock of 80 Fieldfares, 120 Redwings and a Woodcock were seen at Drove orchards and a Barn Owl was hunting along Broadwater Road early morning.
