A Merlin chasing Pipits over the grazing marsh at the beginning of the day was somewhat unexpected. Migration seemed to have ceased with the change of wind direction, though a Cuckoo was seen and heard and a single Wheatear was in the dunes. Three Redpolls were in the pines by the Obs.
