With another hot and sunny day there was plenty of interest at the Observatory with 200 Common Scoters, a single Gannet, 205 Sandwich Terns, 5 Little and 5 Common Terns offshore. Of note around the recording area were 14 Avocets, 5 Whimbrel, a Curlew, a Green Woodpecker, and a Grasshopper Warbler was also noted.
In the moth traps an Oak Eggar, Privet Hawk, Garden Tiger, Pine Hawk Moth were among 71 species recorded today.
