Highlights today were 6 Teal, 5 Common Scoters, 19 Gannets, 8 Little Terns, 84 Sandwich Terns, and 270 Common Terns passing offshore. A Green Sandpiper and a Greenshank were around the Broadwater in the morning, and both Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers were around the pines. Ringing was productive with 17 new birds and 10 retraps, including a Lesser Whiethroat, Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler and many Long-tailed Tits!
In the moth traps today a White Satin Moth, Blood Vein, Gold Triangle, Southern Wainscot and Nutmeg were among the catch of 28 species.
