A blustery day with occasional showers, much of the interest today was on the sea with at least 32 Manx Shearwaters passing offshore, together with 6 Common Scoters, 5 Fulmars, 48 Gannets, 6 Black Terns, 350 Sandwich Terns, 279 Common Terns, 12 Arctic Terns, and 10 Arctic Skuas also of note. On the NWT reserve a Whimbrel, Common and Green Sandpipers and 2 Greenshank were seen, and at the Observatory a colour-ringed Whinchat was again seen on the reserve, with 2 Stonechats also on the east bank in the afternoon.
