An increasingly blustery day with heavy rain at lunch time, highlights today were 10 Wigeon, 150 Teal, 65 Common Scoter offshore, 3 Fulmars, a Razorbill and 2 Kittiwakes offshore. A total of 78 Whimbrel were counted passing west and 15 Black-tailed Godwits, 1 Common Sandpiper, 4 Green Sandpipers, a Wood Sandpiper and a Spotted Redshank were around the grazing marshes, and 2 Stonechats were in the dunes.
In the moth traps 3 Brimstones, 2 Rusty Dot Pearls, 13 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a White Ermine, 19 Flounced Rustics, 9 Silver Ys, 3 Common Wainscots, 4 Square-spot Rustics, 3 Large Yellow Underwings, 4 Vine's Rustics, 2 White-lined Darts, 2 Straw Dots, a Mottled Rustic, 7 Archer's Darts, 3 Snouts, a Blood-vein, a Mother-of-pearl, a Lime-speck Pug and a Dark Sword-grass were caught.
