ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 14th August 2021

Birds today included a Garganey on the Broadwater, 2 Great White Egrets, a Greenshank, Red Kite, 11 Black-tailed Godwits, a juvenile Cuckoo in the pines and 3 Yellow Wagtails flying over calling.
 
The moth traps produced 11 Drinkers, an Orange Swift, 4 Small Waved Umber, Small Fan-footed Wave, 9 Scarce Footman, 2 Canary Shouldered Thorns, 6 Garden Pebble, 8 Flounced Rustic, 4 Cloaked Minor, 4 White Point, Blood-vein, 4 Dingy Footman, 13 Yellow-tail, 5 Straw Dot, Sallow Kitten, 2 Iron Prominent, Tree Lichen Beauty, 3 Rosy Minor, 3 Knot Grass, 2 Nutmeg, Dusky Sallow, 6 Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, Tawny-speckled Pug, Single Dotted Wave, 9 White-line Dart, 2 Ruby Tiger, 6 Shuttle-shaped Dart, Lesser and Swallow Prominents, Willow Beauty, Archer's Dart, 2 Turnip, Setaceous Hebrew Character, 3 Flame Shoulder, Webb's Wainscot, Black Arches, 2 Large Yellow Underwing, Ear sp, Rustic, 2 Garden Tiger, Red Twin-spot Carpet, Grey Dagger agg and Coronet.
