ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Sunday 15th August 2021

 A Wheatear was at Gore Point and two Garganey were on the Broadwater. Also of interest were a Great White Egret, 2 Whimbrel, 8 Black-tailed Godwit,  Green Sandpiper and Greenshank.
 
Moths today included a Pine Hawk Moth, 7 Sharp-angled Peacocks, 5 Drinkers, 22 Dingy Footman, 14 Yellow-tail, 3 Common Carpet, 3 Twin-spotted Wainscot, Rusty Dot Pearl, Webb's Wainscot, 15 Flounced Rustic, 5 Setaceous Hebrew Character, 6 Knot Grass, 10 Archer's Dart, 2 Least Carpet, Antler, 5 Large Yellow Underwing, Tree Lichen Beauty, 2 Gold Spot, Grey Dagger agg, Sallow Kitten, 5 Shuttle-shaped Dart, 6 Single Dotted Wave, Willow Beauty, 2 Garden Tiger, 4 Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, Brown-line Bright-eye, 3 Vine's Rustic, Six-striped Rustic, 4 Straw Underwing, Rosy Rustic, 14 Scarce Footman, 2 White Point, Spectacle, Smoky Wainscot, Ruby Tiger, 4 Cloaked Minor, 6 Straw Dot, 7 Garden Pebble, Black Arches, 3 Nutmeg, 2 Small Fan-footed Wave, 5 White-line Dart, 3 Flame Shoulder, Rush Veneer, Dark Arches, 2 Rustic, Riband Wave, Iron Prominent, Small Waved Umber, Common Pug, Grey Pine Carpet, Breckland Plume and Humming-bird Hawk Moth.
 
A swarm of over 80 Migrant Hawkers were around the pines and Common Darter was also noted.
