The day started with a short sea watch, lots of Sandwich and Common Terns moving plus 4 Whimbrel west but not much else on the sea. Theo had a Black Tern a little later in the morning. Once it warmed up there were lots of dragonflies and butterflies including 2 Brimstone and a Small Copper and large numbers of Red Admiral and Peacock.
The moth traps were fairly full with 116 moths of 49 species but nothing super exciting. The most abundant species was Scarce Footman with 16 in the traps.
Tonight we are trying to catch Swallows for the first time this year! Fingers crossed we catch some!
