Highlights today were a Pied Flycatcher still present, 2
Spotted Flycatchers, 4 Stonechats, a Yellow Wagtail over calling, both Hobby
and Peregrine on the south side of the marsh, Spotted Redshank, Greenshank, 15
Black-tailed Godwits, and at sea 15 Common Scoter, a Red-throated Diver, Arctic
Skua and 25 Sandwich Terns were counted. A Barn Owl was hunting early morning
and 2 Great White Egrets were of interest.
Moths were abundant, with 2 Nutmeg, 30 Archer's Darts, 18
Vine's Rustic, 3 Silver Y, 3 Green Carpet, 5 White Point, 21 White-line Dart,
11 Flounced Rustic, 17 Square-spot Rustic, 4 Common Wainscot, 19 Setaceous
Hebrew Character, 4 Flame Shoulder, 2 Fern, Light Emerald, 4 Large Yellow
Underwing, Frosted Orange, 2 Spectacle, 4 Small Square-spot, 2 Turnip and a
Shuttle-shaped Dart.
