On the sea today 175 Brent Geese, 197 Wigeon, 41 Common
Scoter, a Velvet Scoter, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 4 Red-throated Divers, 3
Great Crested Grebes, a Great Skua and a Guillemot were seen. A group of 8 Red
Kites were kettling over the Observatory late morning. Also of interest were 5
Cetti’s Warblers, 16 Redwings, 130+ Meadow Pipits, 15 Rock Pipits, 3 Bramblings
and 8 Siskins.
In the moth traps 11 Large Wainscots, a Feathered Thorn,
Red-green Carpet, Rosy Rustic, Lunar Underwing, and Dark Chestnut were among
the catch.
