Holme Bird Observatory Wednesday 13th October 2021

Another largely quiet day especially from a ringing perspective, though a pair of Bearded Reedling and another Rock Pipit, our sixth of the autumn, were nice surprises in the nets. Sightings today included a single Velvet Scoter and Little gull off Gore Point and small numbers of Brambling and Siskin overflying the Obs during the morning. Pipits were clearly on the move with 120 Meadow Pipits and 25 Rock Pipits counted.
