ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Thursday 19th May 2022

Two Cuckoos were in the dunes and both Grey and Yellow Wagtails flew over calling.
 
Moths today included 4 Green Carpets, 3 Common Wainscots, 11 Cinnabars, 3 Buff Tips, Marbled Brown, Coxcomb Prominent, Sallow Kitten, Swallow Prominent, Garden Pebble, 2 Small Elephant Hawks, 2 Ferns, 2 Northern Drabs, Small Square Spot, Brown Rustic, Eyed Hawk Moth, Small Clouded Brindle, Knot Grass, 11 Treble Lines, 6 White Ermine, 4 Flame Wainscots, 2 Bordered Whites, 2 Angle-barred Pugs, 22 Flame Shoulders, Orange Footman, Lime-speck Pug, Hebrew Character, Spectacle, Poplar Hawk, Eyed Hawk, Mottled Rustic, Vine's Rustic, Obscure Wainscot, Pine Beauty, Silver Y, Shuttle-shaped Dart, 4 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, an Angle Shades and 2 Muslin. A Puss moth hatched from least year's coccoons.
 
Several Wall Browns were counted and a Small Heath was near the Observatory
