ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

A quiet day for birds but with some spells of warm sunshine.

A Brown Hawker was around the pond mid-morning and 7 Migrant Hawkers were also noted. 

A Humming-bird Hawk was on the buddleia and in the moth traps a large and varied catch included Fern, 20 Garden Tigers, 9 Ruby Tigers, 4 Latticed Heaths, a Small Waved Umber, 2 Red Twin-spot Carpets, a Dark-barred Twin-spot Carpet, 2 Buff Ermine, 10 Scarce Footmen, 5 Large Yellow Underwings, 2 Fen Wainscots, 2 Dingy Footmen, 2 Bright-line Brown-eye, 7 Drinkers, 2 Yellow Tails, 4 Lyme Grass, 7 Cloaked Minors, 3 White-line Darts, 7 Dark Arches, 29 Rustics, 2 Oak Eggars, 13 Shuttle-shaped Darts, 11 Turnips, 4 Least Carpets, White Point, 2 Dusky Sallows, 4 Smoky Wainscots, Pine Hawk, 3 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 1 Early Thorn, 10 Common Rustics, 3 Rosy Minors, 2 Archer's Darts, 3 Ear sp, 2 Cinnabars, 2 Shaded Broad-bars, Common Carpet, Flame Shoulder, Mother-of-Pearl, 2 Uncertains, Small Dotted Buff, 4 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 5 Single Dotted Waves, 2 Chinese Characters, 5 Rosy Footmen and a Haworth's Pug.
