ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Highlights today were 3 summer plumage Golden Plover, 5 Black-tailed Godwits, a Ruff, 2 Green Sandpipers, a Greenshank, Snipe,  Whimbrel, 10 Little Terns, 8 Sandwich and 4 Common Terns, 5 Stonechats, and a Yellow Wagtail.

Moths included Small Waved Umber, 3 Large Yellow Underwings, 3 Cloaked Minors, Scarce Footman, 9 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 16 Garden Tigers, Drinker, 8 Rustics, 8 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 4 Flame Shoulders, Dingy Footman, White Point, 2 Uncertain, Archer's Dart, Swallow Prominent, Nutmeg, 3 Common Rustics, Cabbage, Dark Arches, 2 Shuttle-shaped Darts, Rosy Minor, 3 Turnips, Mother of Pearl, 2 Straw Dots, Southern Wainscot, Common Footman, White-lined Dart, 4 Least Yellow Underwings, Rosy Rustic, Straw Underwing, Small Fan-footed Wave and 2 Flounced Rustics.
