ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Friday 26th August 2022

Highlights today were 158 Black-tailed Godwits on the Broadwater, 3 Gannets, 7 Little Terns, 14 Common Terns and 5 Sandwich Terns offshore, 5 Chiffchaffs, 2 Willow Warblers, 2 Whinchats and 8 Stonechats on the east bank during the morning, and 3 Yellow Wagtails over calling.

Moths included  2 Rush Veneers, Rosy Wave, Chinese Character, 3 White Points, Pebble Prominent, 2 Six-striped Rustics, Nutmeg, Poplar Hawk, Latticed Heath, 29 Flounced Rustics, 16 Large Yellow Underwings, 6 Archer's Darts and a Lime-speck Pug.
