On the sea today 2 Eider, 38 Common Scoter, a Red-throated Diver, 3 Fulmars, 12 Gannets, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 3 Arctic Skuas, 19 Sandwich Terns and 9 Common Terns were seen. Waders included 300 Golden Plover, 4 Whimbrel, 42 Curlew, 260 Black-tailed Godwits, 4 Ruff, 7 Dunlin, 2 Common Sandpipers, 2 Green Sandpipers, 2+ Greenshank, 3 Snipe, a Med Gull, Kingfisher, 15 Swallows, 1 House Martin, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 9 Chiffchaffs, 1 Willow Warbler, 3 Blackcap, Lesser Whitethroat, 4 Whitethroats, a Whinchat and 22 Stonechats were seen around the recording area.
In the moth traps 4 Lime-speck Pugs, 2 Brimstones, 4 Square-spot Rustics, 10 Archer's Darts, 8 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, 10 Flounced Rustics, 14 Vine's Rustics, 8 Large Yellow Underwings, Spectacle, 3 Ferns, 7 Small Sqaure-spots, Dark Sword-grass, Blood Vein, Rosy Rustic, Small Dusty Wave, Snout, Chinese Character, Nutmeg, 5 White-lined Darts, Willow Beauty, 3 Six-striped Rustics, Small Fan-footed Wave, 4 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, Straw Underwing, Ruby Tiger, Smoky Wainscot, 2 Turnips and a Yellow Belle were caught. A Painted Lady was also of note.
