REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Thursday 18th August 2022

A warm day with a few showers in the morning, highlights were 8 Avocets, 6+ Whimbrel, a Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Ruff, 16 Dunlin, 2 Green Sandpipers, Spotted Redshank, 6 Greenshank, a Peregrine, 24 Swallows, 5 Willow Warblers, 10+ Blackcaps, a Garden Warbler, 3 Whitethroats, 2 Stonechats and 5 Yellow Wagtails.
 
In the moth traps today were 2 Sharp-angled Peacocks, a Gold Swift, 2 Garden Pebbles, a Straw Dot, a Many-plume Moth, 2 Vine's Rustics, 2 Straw Underwings, 3 White-lined Darts, 13 Flounced Rustics, 10 Archer's Darts, 3 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a Fern, 6 Small Square Spots, 3 Lesser Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 4 Flame Shoulders, 2 White Points, Angle Shades, 2 Cabbages and a Cloaked Minor.
