ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Monday 26th September 2022

At sea 12 Pintail, 2 drake Scaup, 3 Eiders, 44 Common Scoters, a female Red-breasted Merganser, 12 Red-throated Divers, 2 Manx Shearwaters, 121 Gannets, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 7 Arctic Skuas, 3 Bonxies, a Guillemot, 43 Sandwich Terns and 7 Med Gulls. Also of interest were a Hobby, 12 Swallows, 2 Chiffchaffs, a Redwing and single Grey Wagtail flying over.

In the moth traps 25 Lunar Underwings, 6 Large Yellow Underwings, 6 Beaded Chestnuts, Setaceous Hebrew Character, Shore Wainscot, Square-spot Rustic and a Flounced Chestnut were caught.
