ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Tuesday 27th September 2022

A flock of 185 Black-tailed Godwits were counted roosting on the Broadwater this morning, a Kingfisher was noted mid-morning and a 'white' Starling was noted in amongst the 300 strong flock on the marsh. Sixteen Swallows and three House Martins were noted over the Obs during the day as were two Redpolls that flew over heading west.

The moth trap produced eleven species, that included four Feathered Ranunculus , a Black Rustic and Sixty-four Lunar Underwings.
