ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Sunday 25th September 2022

A day of northerly winds swinging westerly, highlights were mainly on the Broadwater with 50 Black-tailed Godwits, Spotted Redshank, Greenshank, 4 Snipe, Kingfisher, 8 Swallows, 3 Stonechats, 2 Grey Wagtails passing over, and 2+ Bramblings in the pines.

In the moth traps 6 Square-spot Rustics, 3 Rosy Rustics, 42 Lunar Underwings, 9 Beaded Chestnuts, a Straw Dot, 6 Large Yellow Underwings, Dotted Chestnut, Feathered Ranunculus, 2 Broad-bordered Yellow Underwings, 3 Large Wainscots and a Deep Brown Dart were recorded.
