ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Saturday 29th October 2022

The Cattle Egret was present again, with Spotted Redshank and Greenshank present along the Broadwater. A Fieldfare was noted around the recording area and 12 Rock Pipits flew over calling with a Redpoll and 15 Siskins also of interest.

In the moth traps 15 Large Wainscots, 2 White Points, a Rusty-dot Pearl, a Mottled Rustic and 2 Large Yellow Underwings were caught. 

Red Admiral was still on the wing.
