Holme Bird Observatory Thursday 13th October 2022

A busy day ringing wise with 45 Meadow Pipits, 15 Reed Buntings and a Rock Pipit amongst the 89 birds caught. A change in wind direction was presumably responsible for both Red-necked and Slavonian Grebes appearing on the sea too. The moth traps were more productive today  with 26 Large Yellow Underwing, 15 Eudonia angustea, 7 Lunar Underwing, 4 White point, 3 Beaded Chestnut and single Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, Black Rustic, Hebrew Character, Rush Veener and Vines Rustic caught.
