ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Wednesday 12th October 2022

Birds on the move today included Chaffinches and Meadow Pipits with small flocks noted over flying the Obs. Three Grey Wagtails were notable too and a female Great Spotted Woodpecker was trapped and ringed. The Greenshank remained on the Broadwater, viewable from the Car Park Hide and the Jack Snipe was again in front of the NWT hide. 
Moth numbers were low with a Black Rustic, Lunar Underwing, Large Yellow Underwing and two Feathered Ranunculus all the traps had to offer.
