ACCESS TO HOLME BIRD OBSERVATORY UPDATE

REPAIRS TO THE COASTAL FOOTPATH ARE COMPLETE AND FULL ACCESS IS RESTORED TO THE OBSERVATORY FROM THORNHAM. THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS FOR THEIR CO-OPERATION.

Holme Bird Observatory Monday 10th April 2023

Heavy rain persisted until 2pm. A drake Garganey was on Redwell Marsh and around the Observatory recording area 12 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Ruff, a Snipe and 5 Redshank were counted. A Barn and 2 Tawny Owls were recorded, a Swallow flew through, and 3 Cetti's Warblers, 10+ Chiffchaffs, a Willow Warbler, a single Stonechat and a Redpoll were of note.

In the moth traps a Northern Drab and Hebrew Character were the only moths caught.
